The Nightingale's Tale

Poetic Expressions of Faith, Fortune, and Grief by Selina

Hope

12/15/24

Hope is a nightingale
She sings from the heart
Whether caged or freed
She sings to the stars

Hope perches on the Tree
Even when you miss the roots
Never will there be a fee
To sing along with her tune

Hope is the Mother
Who always arrives when you ask
She tends to your wounds
Removes the swords from your back

Hope carries your woe
She'll give it a safe space
She always hears your prayers
Wipes the grief from your face

Hope is the one to remind you
Rainbows come after the storm
That winter will not last forever
Sun will return to keep you warm

Hope will never lose you
For she has the clearest sight
Hold onto her like an owl
And you will survive the darkest nights
