The Nightingale's Tale

Poetic Expressions of Faith, Fortune, and Grief by Selina

Birdsong for Deaf Ears

Thundering skies and watery eyes
I'm sick of all the wondering
Tell me the the truth, no need for lies
I only wish to stop pondering

Whether you cherish me as I do you
Or if you're interested in a future
Tell me now before I fall
The silence is too much pressure

You say you want to talk and yet
I haven't heard you say a word
Why not say what you mean unless
You too see me as a caged bird
