The Nightingale's Tale

Poetic Expressions of Faith, Fortune, and Grief by Selina

To Love the Moon

To love the Moon is to love all of her, all of the time
To love all of Her shapes, sizes, and signs
To love Her when she’s dark and hard to read
To love Her when she’s full and bright for all to see

To love the Moon is to trust the process
In growing our gardens from seed to harvest
From small to large and short to tall
The Moon stands witness to glories and faults

The Moon is a traveler and a quick one at that
From Aries to Pisces, She never turns back
Her capacity to nurture changes through the mansions
Despite Her conditions She always advances

Love Her beams as She does the sun
Cherish Her softness when abundance is won
Stand in Her light and dance in Her silver
She has a gift of making nights to remember

In gardens She kisses the plants at night
And soothes children in bedtime fright
Night glimmers and white lilies shine
To love the Moon is to love the divine

Just as the Sun always rises, so will the Moon
To love Her is to greet Her when you see Her
Because She’s always been there for you
